Cleaning Alcantara

I'm not sure exactly what Alcantara is and I have a whole steering wheel just covered with it & I'm wondering how I'm going to clean it after my sweaty palms get to it. Do I treat it as a suede? leather? cloth? My sweat is really acidic & I'd hate to have these nasty smelly stains at the 9 & 3 o'clock positions on the steering wheel!

Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the info guys & dolls! You make an obsessive compulsive feel right at home!!!

Drive at 10 and 2? LOL jk, I would think you should treat it as suede. I have a shift boot made of it, and it actually stays pretty clean, though my hands aren't all over it...

i know it's a faux suede, dun know how to treat it.. it already has a worn spot, but it's still nice overall.

maybe you should wear driving gloves at all times eh? and alternate hands btw the wheels and the AC vent? (btw, that was a nonsensical blabing)

i really should look into it too.. one o these days.....
